Devotional - Blessed Are You

“Blessed are all those who put their trust in him” Psalm 2:12

Message:

Are you feeling blessed today?

If you are - without me going any further - well, God bless you abundantly indeed!

For the rest of us, 

Probably not.

A rough night’s sleep?

Meltdowns before breakfast?

A child that won’t do what you ask them to do?

An attitude from a family member that is far from kind?

Thankfully our relationship with God and the blessings we have, are not based on how good we are, our circumstances, or how good our deeds are. 

Yes, we get that faith without works in dead,

But,

our relationship is based on belief – that Christ is Lord, he paid the price, and our restorer through the forgiveness of sins.

Hallelujah!

Good behaviour, through behaviour modification, is often like religion rather than relationship.

We do, because we’re been trained to act a certain way.

Recognising and flowing with sensory needs is more like belief – the substance of relationship.

So within that relationship, you are blessed today whether you feel like it or not: 

God sustains your breath, 

He helps you to die to self, 

He feeds you, 

You are an heir,

So highly treasured…

He blesses in so many ways that we often don’t stop to recognise them!

Point to ponder: 

How much what you do is due to behaviour training rather than getting to the heart and flow of sensory needs?

“Dear father God, 

Thank you that if we have put our trust in you then you promise to bless us. Thank you that those blessings are not dependent on what we do but who we are. Thank you that in you we are blessed – help me to see your blessings today! Thank you, Jesus. Amen!”
