Devotional - Content, Calm, and Confident
“I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” John 10:10
TODAYS MESSAGE:
Why is “calm, content, coordinated & confident” the hallmark of living in the best sensory health?
Well, it's a place where anxiety, stress, frustration, clumsiness and fear are all treated, or harnessed, to let life flourish.
It enables anyone to do what they want to do and how they want to do it – not held back by insecurity, poor motor planning or confusion about the world around them.
Sensory health is something you can grow into and thankfully, develop.
Outside of sensory health, we can also thankfully reach out to God:
- Never stop believing God's promises. Search one out that applies to your particular stressful situation and believe that it is God's promise to you.
- For example a favourite one for parents is: Isaiah 40:11 (KJV)He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. This reminds us how God provides all our needs and gently leads us so we can trust in him.
- Be convinced that God has the power needed to fulfil His promise, no matter what the circumstances look like.
- Don't apply any rule of measurement to the promise. Don't assume that if it's been 25 years, the promise can't come true now. That's about how long Abraham waited for Isaac to be born.) Don't think that because 1,000 other people disagree with what God has shown you about healing, it can't happen. (1,000 can fall at your side, 10,0000 at your other side, but it won't affect you.) Our Father offers us promises without or beyond measure.
POINT TO PONDER:
Do you have a promise you are holding onto? What promise could apply to you?
PRAYER:
“Dear Heavenly Father, you desire more than anything that we live in communion and connection with you. You know how hard life on earth can be. You created it good and whole and yet this state was destroyed and we now live in a fallen world. Thank you, that one day it will all be healed. Thank you that we are not alone as we seek to find contentment, calm and confidence in this life. Thank you for your promises that ring true as much now as when they were first written. Bless your name, Amen!”
