Devotional: Don't walk alone

Bible verse: 

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua 1:5

Message:

Sometimes it’s easy to be cynical about bible verses or pat answers.

Sometimes promises seem too vague to grasp hold of.

Sometimes we can get complacent with verses that we hear time and time again.

Sometimes though, we need to pause, reflect and meditate on what they really mean.

God will never leave or forsake us. He is there even in the toughest times. Sometimes we don’t easily realise this.

God’s people are here to be a support and encouragement during these times.

At Christian Sensory Support, we know that dealing with sensory needs can be tough.

Really tough. 

You can feel exhausted physically and emotionally, with no time to rest or recover, and the demands can be relentless.  

On top of this, it is easy to feel that somehow you have ‘got it wrong’, 

or feel judged by others when your children have meltdowns in public or at family gatherings, 

or you get called in to school yet again to explain your child’s behaviour.  

If this is you, please remember that you are not alone.  

There is very little that will shock or embarrass the Christian Sensory Support team. 

We have seen it all.

We have families where individuals shout, swear, throw things, self-harm, hit out, kick, refuse to attend school, can't get out to work, etc etc. 

You are safe to be open about what life is really like with us, without judgement.  

We are here for you!

Bringing scripture into the here and now means that God has provided us for you and you for us. Let’s walk together.

“Thank you, Heavenly Father, that you are so practical and real and meet me on all levels. Sometimes I can feel like I am seated in heavenly places and other times I am in the pit and miry clay of life. Help me to meditate on your word and recognise that you use other people sometimes to show me that you never leave me. Help today to see You at work through others. In Jesus name, Amen!”
