Devotional: Free from accusation!

“Perfect love casts out all fear”

1 John 4:18

Message: 

 Some time ago, I woke up from a dream in fear!

I was being pursued by someone who had verbally attacked me in the past, and I couldn’t get away. 

Not nice!

Have you ever had that?

The only thing that came to mind was the verse “Perfect love casts out all fear”. I stayed in bed and meditated on that verse until the peace returned and I got back to normal enough to continue with the day.

What an amazing verse!

We can be tormented by so many things.

We know who our enemy is. He is the Father of lies and accusations, and knows which buttons to press.

We can be fearful of the future,

Fearful for those we love of what they are doing, might do, or not be able to do…

Fearful of how they may hurt others,

Fearful of our reputation that their behaviours will damage,

 and so many things!

Thankfully our God is so much bigger and wiser and stronger than he. We just can’t let Satan, get a foothold.

If you find yourself moving into fear - meditate on God’s love, and then how to love in the midst of the situation no matter what!

What does perfect love look like to you?

Prayer:

“Loving heavenly Father, thank you that your arms are always open wide to us. You are our strength, and shield and defender. You are perfect peace, you are perfect love, you are perfect in every way. Thank you that you sent your Holy Spirit to be our guide and comfort – not an accuser but a lover of our souls. For those times when accusations come, help me to banish them in Jesus’ name because they don’t come from you! Thank you. Amen.”
