Devotional: I believe in you!

“I will rejoice over them to do them good” Jeremiah 32:41

What’s the worst thing you’ve had thrown back in your face?

I’m assuming here that at some point in your life you’ve been misunderstood, or criticised unfairly, or judgments made about you that were untrue?

Children can be cruel – most of the time not even realising the impact or power of their words.

But other adults can be just as bad.

Family members can be really hard to handle graciously.

I woke up this morning with this phrase in my head:

“I believe in you”

I believe in you.

God believes in you. He loves you so much that he gave you your very life. No one on this earth is like you. You are one of a kind - specially created and God wants you here, doing what you are doing.  

Do you have a heart to love your child no matter how difficult they are?

Do you have a heart to help them?

Do you have a heart to want to bring out the best in them?

I’m sure you do.

Apart from if you’re at breaking point, being utterly exhausted with absolutely nothing left to give, then your answer will be yes.

If your answer happens to be no – and you have nothing left – please reach out.

We want to bring out the best in you. We believe in you.

POINT TO PONDER:

If someone doesn’t say something that does you good – is it from God? How much is it worth paying attention to?

PRAYER:

“Dear Father God, how you must feel for us when we are not kind to one another, when we judge or speak too quickly. It hurts when people are unkind, or misinterpret what I do and causes me to look bad and to feel bad. You only want to do me good. Help me to forgive them, help me to allow others to think what they want and strengthen me from within – from the inside out – to love, care and be kind when others throw things back in my face. I ask this in Jesus precious name. Thank you. Amen!”
