Devotional: Joy

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you.” Isaiah 26:3

Message:

Is joy sometimes the last thing you feel?

Is love, something you know that you have for your child but you often don’t feel it?

Well, 

I heard recently about the sponge cake.

?!?

Bear with me..

On the bottom of the cake is PEACE

Next comes the LOVE filling

And JOY is the top layer.

What this means 

Once we have PEACE, it’s easier to LOVE, and once love flows then the JOY returns.

How special!

Fancy a slice of Joy?

Try it, if you haven’t already today - If we keep our minds stayed on Christ, he will keep us in perfect peace. From there we can flow with love because our eyes are fixed on Him and not on ourselves and all we are carrying, and then the joy can well up from within.

How peaceful are you at this moment? How is it affecting your joy?

PRAYER:

“Father God, thank you so much for your Word that has so many layers to it. Thank you also that’s it can be so simple! I praise you this morning that you promise us peace when we keep our eyes fixed and stayed on you. Help me to do that today – and prompt me when I lose my joy, to check my peace first, and then check how my love is flowing. In Jesus name I ask, thank you. Amen.”
