Devotional - Let us run the race

''Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.'' Hebrews 12:1-3

Message:

If you've been a Christian a while, you've probably heard this scripture many times. It's a reminder that no matter what comes our way, whether it be temptation, sin, challenges, we can still run the race. New Christians may find the thought of endurance and struggle daunting, but here's the thing... this scripture doesn't just say run the race. It says to run with our eyes fixed on Jesus.

When your world is falling apart - look to Jesus

When you feel lost - look to Jesus

No matter what you are enduring - look to Jesus

When troubles come, look to Jesus, remembering the verses: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30).

His peace surpasses all. What we cannot do in our strength, we can do in His.

What burden are you carrying that you need to pass to Jesus so you can run your race full steam?
