Devotional: Orderly steps

“the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way”

Psalm 37:23

Message:

How often to we allow ourselves to rest and acknowledge God’s love for us and His delight in us?

I took a couple of hours on Saturday evening to lie down and soak in God’s goodness as worship music, praise, and scriptural truth about who God says I am, was played in the background.

Beautiful!

I normally sleep well

But this was a lovely deep sleep.

Jesus describes the Holy Spirit and our helper, counsellor and advocate. 

He isn’t described as the one who will do everything for us and require nothing of us!

How often, in the natural, do we need to stop and rest before we can walk on again?

Point to ponder: 

Do you need to stop and pause and rest today in anyway? What that looks like to you, may look different to anyone else - and that’s fine.

Prayer pointer:

“Dear Loving Heavenly Father,

I want to be a “good man”. I want to allow my steps to be ordered by you so that you will delight in me. I thank you that you love me unconditionally, but help me surrender everything so that I can bring you delight! Show me where I need to rest, and pause to check that my steps are ordered well by you alone. For your Glory Lord, thank you. Amen!”
