Devotional - Why Do I Trust?

“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Message: 

Why do I trust in you?

Why do I trust in you and want to equip, coach, help and support you?

Because…

I trust that you want the best for others, yourself or your family.

I trust that you want to do the very best you can.

I trust that you see things that few other people will.

I trust that you see at all times -  

of the day, 

of the night,

when sick,

when well,

when working hard,

when relaxing,

when in social situations

and when at home alone,

in family gatherings, 

at the supermarket,

when stressed,

when silly,

when sad,

or affectionate.

Not many of us get to know someone that well. 

I trust that you care, and that you love – even when you don’t like what’s going on.

I trust that no matter how imperfectly we may care for ourselves or others, that ultimately we are made in God’s image and He cares.

No matter how flawed we are.

God trusts us.

He trusts us to carry the most important message of all time – that God is real, and that we are to be the carriers of His presence and of His Gospel message, and edify others.

How remarkable!!

Point to ponder:

Do you know how precious, important, and needed you are?

Prayer:

"Dear Heavenly Father, it is so humbling to think you have chosen me to carry the responsibility of loving others and all that comes with it. It is humbling that you have chosen me to carry your message of hope and salvation. I praise you and thank you that I am not supposed to do it on my own or supposed to do it perfectly. Thank you, that we are put in community to help and look out for each other. Thank you that have continued to work your purposes out through seemingly inadequate and foolish people in the past. I ask for wisdom to see how and why I can be trusted and believe that in myself too! In Jesus’s name, Amen! "
